Off-shore platforms West Franklin & Elgin B – Rosetti Marino (EPCI)

Rosetti Marino Spa constructed West Franklin and Elgin B off-shore platforms (North Sea UK – final Customer was Oil & Gas operator  Total UK). Nexum is proud for having been part of this big project supporting its Customer with engineering, vendor coordination, FATs, installation and commissioning. Once the platforms were installed, Nexum completed its job with the off-shore hook-up (SAT and start-up activities).

The construction of the platforms were done at Rosetti Marino‘s Piomboni yard in Marina di Ravenna (north east of Italy, on the Adriatic sea coast, between Venice and Rimini). It taken almost one year from the jacket to the sail-away (from Ravenna’s harbour to the installation place on the UK’s North sea). We supported our Customer Rosetti Marino into all phases from FATs at the vendor premises to the installation and commissioning. On-board systems, which were part of safety systems, such as PA/GA and CCTV were commissioned on yard gaining time and simplifying the hook-up (safety systems fully operative since the very first day). Platforms started their sail-away as scheduled with great satisfaction of both final Customer and the whole team.

Hook-up lasted eight months so several off-shore missions were necessary to cover this long period. Telecommunication systems of both platforms required some adaptations due to an unexpected change of specifications communicated by the final Customer (Total UK). For this reason our engineering team at Gatteo developed a special engineering in parallel.
